Improve posture

PostureIf you are suffering from back, neck, or shoulder pain, then I can help. I am a Level 3 Certified Postural Correction Specialist, and travel the country teaching other personal trainers the secrets of posture correction.

The chances are that your posture isnt as good as it could be. Most people have some degree of faulty posture, which can be caused by any number of things, such as occupation, or injury or illness of some kind. Probably because it doesn’t really stop you doing anything, you don’t see your own posture, and ‘Hello' magazine doesn’t shout about celebs with poor posture. But the fact is, back and joint pain usually stem from poor posture, and it will come for you one day. Maybe not tomorrow, or the next day, but one day! Also, posture had a massive impact on how people perceive you. Who is more attractive or powerful? Someone with stooped and rounded shoulders and the beginnings of a hump, or someone standing tall, looking confident? Not humpy that’s for sure.Posture

Most postural problems are easily corrected with a program of massage and corrective exercise, most of which you can do in your own home. So if you want to stop back pain before it starts, and you want people to notice you, please get in touch.

Is bad posture really a problem?

Whether you spend all your time at a desk or driving, or you’re an athlete training everyday, bad posture and movement can not only cause pain, but may also lead to long term joint or back problems. In sport, these weak links can also reduce performance and lead to injury. Poor posture can also affect your physical appearance, making you appear shorter, nervous or anxious, and generally less physically attractive or impressive.

Can I improve my posture?

YES! Through a comprehensive posture and movement assessment, followed by an individually tailored and targeted program of massage, stretching and exercise, most of these problems can be corrected. Its not difficult, but it does require 10-15 minutes of work every day, which can be done at home.
